Baltimore Data Week
Baltimore Data Week was arranged to help communities expand their capacity to use technology and data to advance their goals. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Baltimore Data Week was hosted online from July 20-24th. Community leaders, nonprofit organizations, governmental entities and civic-minded technologists came together to see the latest trends in community-based data, learn about new technology and data tools, and observe how other groups are using data to support and advance constructive change. Baltimore Data Week is structured around a series of "how to" interactive workshops in which people who work with data explain what data is available, how to access data, and why data can be actionable for communities. One of the important features of Baltimore Data Week is the diversity of experiences represented among audience members. Based on responses from exit surveys, most attendees were community residents, leaders or volunteers or worked in non-profit/community-based organizations. University faculty and students, local and state government, foundations and for-profit businesses also participated. In the “other” category included teachers, journalists, civic technologists and health care workers.
Sessions and Recordings:
Baltimore Data Week had 20 sessions over the course of 5 days. Over 600 unique attendees participated in at least one of the sessions.
